About Us

The Illinois Small Business Development Center at ISU applies the resources of Illinois State University, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the Small Business Administration, and private sector organizations to solve business problems and foster entrepreneurship. We focus on projects that advance the job development, investment, and economic growth priorities of Central Illinois.

Our center is staffed by full-time professional Illinois SBDC business advisors, with the knowledge and experience to provide entrepreneurs with expert counseling and training. These advisors undergo rigorous professional certification to keep their business knowledge up-to-the-minute and their counseling skills sharp.

Their skills are augmented by the Illinois Entrepreneurship Network. The IEN provides connections and expertise in International Trade, government contract procurement, and other data that can have an impact on small business success.

The Illinois Small Business Development Center at Illinois State University (SBDC) is partially funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration in partnership with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Illinois State University College of Business. All SBA programs are extended to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis.
